Design for Growth
Non-Profit: Growth Strategy, Organization Design
High Growth Demands, Limited Capacity: A non-profit organization was experiencing an unprecedented increase in demand for its services and needed help to build an organization capable of supporting their growth.
Thorough evaluation, Integrated Design: I led a project to evaluate their organization and recommend a structure that suited their strategy. The comprehensive review included close examination of the client’s current structure, roles, budgets, fee structure, and technology stack. We interviewed leadership, staff, and external industry partners.
Through an engaged and iterative process, we developed a redesigned organization and service delivery model that included:
Introducing a shared services model for core administrative functions, yielding consistency, efficiency, and improved internal customer service.
Targeted additions to the organization including additional leadership support and expanded junior roles in targeted market segments.
Technology roadmap for adoption and integrations to drive efficiency.
Developing the business case and presenting to the Board of Directors for approval and planning.
The recommendations enabled the client team to move forward with funding requests, begin targeted recruiting, and following a clear path to establishing a new operational model supporting their rapid growth.
